Alcatel-Lucent’s Alternative Energy program bridges the alternative energy and the telecom worlds to make renewable power a large scale mainstream deployment case for Radio Access Networks. Combining alternative energy and telecom expertise in a full partner-friendly approach, it enriches standard wireless network design and optimization processes with alternative energy sources, to ensure the best combination of energy and telecoms for each site. It leverages an unprecedented level of interaction between the two systems to dramatically increase the return on investment. Alcatel-Lucent provides a complete set of services including consulting, design, installation and commissioning, and network management to ensure a pragmatic and profitable introduction of renewable energy at global network scale for both the off-grid and on-grid applications, in both emerging and developed markets. Alcatel-Lucent is currently working with PowerOasis on consulting services, power controller equipment and remote monitoring systems.
Alcatel-Lucent is delighted to partner with PowerOasis on making alternative energy solutions a wider reality for mobile telecom operators. We are currently testing the PowerOasis Controller (R) on our Lab and Pilot station in Villarceaux; “PowerOasis Controller (R) technology brings a lot of added value to the end-to-end solution” said Rich Garafola, Director of Sustainable Power Solutions within Alcatel-Lucent.
