PowerOasis Press Release: February 2010, Mobile World Congress, Barcelona

AlanDick Selects PowerOasis Diesel Reduction Solutions
This week PowerOasis signed a Global Supply Agreement with AlanDick, giving AlanDick’s customers access to the PowerOasis product portfolio as a diesel reduction option in AlanDick’s cellular infrastructure solutions.
AlanDick builds and manages mobile base station sites for communications service providers in Africa, Middle East and South Asia. In these regions providers are seeking to manage existing networks and roll out new networks in areas with no access to a permanent, reliable electricity grid and are therefore heavily reliant on generators, which are expensive to refuel, maintain and replace. To differentiate their service AlanDick are helping their customers cut diesel consumption, whilst increasing network availability by integrating PowerOasis’s smart power controllers and remote management products into their solutions.
The PowerOasis Controller (D) is a smart generator-battery hybrid controller that reduces diesel consumption by 50% or more and generator runtime by 70% or more through optimised generator run time management and sophisticated battery charge control. The PowerOasis Controller (R) adds the option of renewable wind and/or solar power sources to provide further diesel reductions or to replace the generator completely. The effectiveness of the PowerOasis controllers is further enhanced when combined with the PowerOasis Manager multi-site remote monitoring, control and measurement system to manage system performance and meter fuel consumption. The result is lower fuel bills, fewer refuelling and maintenance site visits, increased network availability through proactive and reactive issue identification and extended generator and battery service lives.
Commenting on the new agreement, Rob Fisher, CEO, AlanDick International says “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with PowerOasis. They are leading the way with robust, intelligent power solutions that can be perfectly matched to the specific requirements of our customers.”
Nick Smailes, CEO, PowerOasis says ”This agreement is another step forward for PowerOasis. AlanDick has an enviable reputation within the industry building complete base stations and offering managed services. By selecting our products AlanDick’s customers can optimise their network power operational costs and improve customer experience.”
About PowerOasis
PowerOasis is a UK-based provider of network power solutions for off-grid mobile base stations and those connected to unreliable electricity grids. PowerOasis has developed sophisticated power controllers that reduce diesel consumption by at least 50% by supplementing or replacing diesel generators with intelligent generator management, sophisticated battery charge control, renewable wind and/or solar energy power sources and unreliable grid electricity when present. The controllers tightly integrate with PowerOasis’s remote monitoring, control and measurement system to enable operators to efficiently maintain on-site power by managing network power performance against key performance indicators (KPIs). Possessing a unique combination of expertise in generators, battery technologies, renewable energy and mobile telecommunications, PowerOasis and its partners deliver network power solutions that minimise diesel consumption and maximise return on investment.
