PowerOasis are providing solutions to a number of mobile network operators, network equipment providers, managed services vendors and industry associations to lower opex and to lay the foundations for reduced dependency on diesel generator and grid power sources. Below are a few cases in point.

Alcatel-Lucent

PowerOasis are supporting Alcatel-Lucent with their Alternative Energy Programme. A key component of the Alcatel-Lucent approach is the smart integration between the base station and the alternative energy sources, and part of this integration is supported by the energy controller equipment. Recognising the benefits PowerOasis solutions bring, Alcatel-Lucent are accelerating the roll-out of PowerOasis Controller (R) installations at their off-grid locations.

Dialog

PowerOasis Controller (R) currently manages the power on Dialog Sri Lanka’s Phase 1 renewable sites. Dialog's sites include typical remote location wind and solar power solutions with generator emergency backup. In addition to their remote locations, Dialog have sites connected to an unreliable grid and in this instance PowerOasis Controller (R) not only provides enhanced availability and differential autonomy but also an estimated 20% reduction in site opex by reducing the grid power consumption.

Digicel

PowerOasis has deployed its PowerOasis Controller (R) solution on wind and solar sites in the Digicel Vanuatu network. The sites are on the main North and South backbones connecting the island chain, handling approximately 60% of Digicel Vanuatu's traffic. Due to site inaccessibility, Digicel required high availability and differential autonomy in order to maintain services. On the back of a successful initial deployment, PowerOasis continue to work with Digicel in lowering their site opex.

GSMA

In 2007 PowerOasis worked with GSMA on their trial site in Namibia for MTC and more recently we have supported GSMA’s Green Power for Mobile programme. Our pioneering reputation in the field of renewable power management for mobile base stations has kept us involved in an ongoing relationship with GSMA, collaborating on new projects along the way.
