Careers

Embarking on a career in PowerOasis, a rapidly growing UK company, means you‘ll be working with some of the best people in the field and in an extraordinarily exciting marketplace providing sustainable mobile telecommunications to the developing world, but don’t just take our word for it ...

PowerOasis has been recognised by The European Tech Tour Association as ‘one of the 30 most exciting technology companies in the UK’ as part of the UK Ireland Tech Tour 2010 and were named a ‘company to watch’ at the Cleantech Connect Awards 2009. The Cleantech Connect Awards bring together Europe’s leaders in the clean and green technology sectors and to encourage continued growth and collaboration within this half-a-trillion-dollar-a-year industry.

PowerOasis was selected as a ‘company to watch’ at the awards because of its pioneering work in the green telecoms sector. Ivan Harris, PowerOasis, Chief Marketing Officer comments “The explosion in demand for mobile phones in new and emerging markets has been staggering, the requirement for reliable remote base stations is set to grow exponentially in the next 2-3 years with much of this growth happening in locations that do not have a reliable electric power grid. PowerOasis provide green power solutions to telco providers who want to move into these new markets profitably, with minimum risk and with long term green credentials.”

Here at PowerOasis we possess a unique combination of expertise in renewable energy, power generation, energy storage technologies, and mobile telecommunications. Our blend of talent and experience has put us at the forefront in the provision of intelligent products and services that ensure a secure power supply and reduced diesel consumption for remote base stations by supplementing or replacing diesel generators with intelligent generator control, sophisticated battery charge control and renewable wind and/or solar energy power sources.

We provide the expertise, products and partnerships to deliver network power solutions that ensure all elements of power are managed efficiently including minimising fuel consumption, truck rolls and dependency on volatile fuel prices, whilst maximising site availability, performance visibility and return on investment.

Our UK Headquarters is in Shrivenham, in the South West recently described as “home to the largest concentration of silicon designers outside California‘s Silicon Valley”. See us profiled in “Future Story Bristol and the South West”. Shrivenham is one of Oxfordshire’s oldest rural villages yet only 9 miles from Swindon with its excellent rail links and 15 minutes from the M4. Bristol and Reading are within an hour travelling by road, with Birmingham and London taking a little over an hour-and-a-half.
