November 2011 – PowerOasis recognised at the Cleantech awards for the third year running

Cleantech Connect features the hottest and fastest growing cleantech companies in Europe and has become one of the key events for CEOs and industry leaders to network and share their experiences. Companies featured come from a wide variety of sectors including energy efficiency, solar, smart grid, water and transportation signalling a growing momentum across the cleantech sectors.

This year PowerOasis achieved a commendable ninth out of twenty in the ‘Fastest Growing Companies’ category. John O’Donohue, Chief Executive Officer at PoweOasis comments “We are particularly pleased with this award, given that this is the third consecutive year PowerOasis has been recognised and the second year in which we have figured in the top group of companies awarded for their growth. Being recognised for a third year running is a terrific boost and points to our ongoing success in delivering solutions with tangible benefits in cost savings and operational benefits for our customers.”

In 2009 PowerOasis was selected as a ‘company to watch’ at the awards because of its pioneering work in the green telecoms sector, reducing diesel consumption by 50% or more for generator powered mobile phone base stations. In 2010 PowerOasis were recognised as the third fastest growing company at the Cleantech awards ceremony in London.

PowerOasis is a UK-based company providing wireless network power management solutions for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and Tower Operating Companies (TOCs) to reduce network power costs, increase site availability and deliver power-related business intelligence.

PowerOasis has already attracted strong interest from both investors and telco providers, the benefits of which are now clearly apparent from operational sites that are yielding very favourable results in terms of cost savings, reliability and autonomy.

Andre Shortell, Partner, GP Bullhound, and a member of the Judging Panel, said, “Cleantech is such a fast moving space, and there are many innovative players entering each year. We have found the quantity and the quality of this year’s entries to be extremely high and this is really challenging our judges. It speaks volumes about the coming of age of a number of cleantech sectors.”

The Cleantech Connect Awards 2011 are Hosted by GP Bullhound, one of Europe’s leading investment banks in technology and digital media.
